Für jedes dieser Migrationsobjekte stellt das Cockpit eine Vorlagedatei bereit, die mit den Quelldaten befüllt und in das Zielsystem hochgeladen wird. Der Anwender wird dabei Schritt für Schritt durch die einzelnen Aktivitäten der Migration geführt.</p>

Falls ungültige Werte auftauchen, können diese leicht korrigiert werden. Vor der eigentlichen Datenmigration führt der Anwender eine Simulation des Transfers durch. Nach erfolgreicher Beendigung der Simulation startet er die tatsächliche Datenmigration nach SAP S/4HANA.</p>

Der Standard-Migrationsumfang des Tools kann dabei erweitert und modifiziert werden. So können Anwenderunternehmen mithilfe des so genannten Migration Object Modelers eigene Migrationsobjekte neu anlegen oder bestehende Standard-Migrationsobjekte an kundenspezifische Anforderungen anpassen. Zusätzlich entwickelt SAP das Cockpit kontinuierlich weiter. Geplant sind zusätzliche Funktionen, die bereits bei der Extraktion der Daten aus den Quellsystemen ansetzen und den Aufwand für die Datenextraktion auf ein Minimum reduzieren.</p>
