Im Juli 2024 hat SAP für die Lösung SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM – ehemals SAP Enterprise Product Development (EPD)) – neue Features und Verbesserungen vorgestellt und gleichzeitig das User Interface (UI) und somit die User Experience (UX) eindrücklich verbessert.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Das SAP PLM Portfolio ist für unsere mittelständischen Kunden in unseren Kernbranchen relevant, weshalb sich ein genauerer Blick auf die Neuerungen lohnt:</p>

<li style="margin-bottom: 0.5rem;">Es ist und bleibt cloudy: SAP PLM steht als zukunftssichere Software-as-a-Service- (SaaS) Lösung mit unterschiedlichen Cloud-Lösungen für die Bereiche Design, Plan, Manufacture, Deliver und Operate für eine digitale Produktentwicklung und Lieferkette parat.</li>
<li style="margin-bottom: 0.5rem;">Das SAP PLM Portfolio besteht nun aus den drei Konstellationen<br>(a) SAP S/4HANA PLM, Private Cloud,<br>(b) SAP Product Lifecycle Management, Public Cloud und<br>© PLM with a Two-System-Landscape</li>
<li style="margin-bottom: 0.5rem;">SAP PLM ist die Nachfolgelösung für SAP Recipe Development (RD), das noch bis 2036 unterstützt wird.</li>
<li style="margin-bottom: 0.5rem;">Brandneu und ein Game Changer sind Funktionen für die Public Cloud: zum einen die Spezifikationsverwaltung (Specification Management) und zum anderen die Rezeptformulierung (Recipe Formulation) für die Rezepturentwicklung, die durch monatliche Updates regelmäßig weiterentwickelt werden.</li>
<li style="margin-bottom: 0.5rem;">Ein intuitiveres Design, optimierte Dashboard-Funktionalitäten sowie bessere Visualisierungs-Tools für die Datenanalyse erleichtern Anwendern zusätzlich das Arbeiten mit der Lösung.</li>
<li style="margin-bottom: 0.5rem;">Dank Collaborations lassen sich Dokumente und Produktdaten innerhalb Teams teilen und so gemeinsam an bspw. Produktentwicklungs- oder Produktverbesserungsprozessen arbeiten – Produktivitätssteigerungen, Fehlerreduktion und eine verbesserte Kommunikation inklusive. Ein weiteres Highlight: Daten und Dokumente können unternehmensübergreifend ausgetauscht werden, externe User benötigen dafür kein SAP.</li>
<li style="margin-bottom: 0.5rem;">Potenzielle AI-Use-Cases in SAP PLM sind in Arbeit, realistisch sind dabei unter anderem automatisierte Vorschläge für Rezepturen und Substitutions (Ersatzprodukte/-stoffe), aber auch Produktqualitäts‑, Duplikat- und Compliance-Checks könnten künftig schneller und somit zeit- und ressourcenschonender ablaufen.</li>
<li style="margin-bottom: 0.5rem;">Nicht zu vergessen das Thema Sustainability: Hierfür existieren unter anderem Key Features für ein nachhaltiges Material Data Management oder Sustainable Product Design sowie Tools, die das Sustainability Reporting oder die Energy and Resource Efficiency sowie das Compliance and Risk Management unterstützen.</li>
