Dabei erforsche ich, welche Geschäftsprozesse beispielsweise in Branchen wie dem Einzelhandel, im Bereich vernetzte Fahrzeuge oder im Energiesektor mit der Verwendung von IoT transformiert werden können, welche Auswirkungen dies auf Kunden bzw. angebotene Services hat und wie sich Entscheidungsprozesse aufgrund der Echtzeit-Verfügbarkeit von Daten verändern. Die Plattform kann zur Automatisierung von Prozessen und als zentrale Drehscheibe für die Einbindung von verschiedensten Geräten wie Sensoren oder Smartphones verwendet werden, um eine Fernüberwachung in Echtzeit zu ermöglichen. Dabei können SAP HANA-Kernfunktionen wie räumlich-geographische Analysen oder Standort-Services unterstützen. Einsatzgebiete sind zum Beispiel „SAP Predictive Maintenance and Service“, vernetztes Anlagenmanagement, vernetze Fertigung oder Logistik.
